Pune Crime Branch might arrest gangster Arun Gawli's wife, Asha Gawli in an extortion case

A businessman from Pune has filed a complaint at Manesar police station against famous gangster Arun Gawli’s gang for making an extortion call and death threats.

In the connection of the same, Pune’s Crime Branch arrested three of the gang members namely Mobin Mohammed Mujawar, Suraj Rajesh Yadav and Bala Sudan Pathare who took Arun Gawli’s wife Asha Gawli's (aka 'Mummy') name. She was summoned for an inquiry but instead of facing the inquiry, she went to the court.

Of these three, Mobin resides at Byculla’s Dagadi Chawl, Suraj works at Asha Gawli’s Wadgaon (Pune) farmhouse while Bala Pathare is a member of Akhil Bharatiya Yuva Sema.

What's the story?

Gawli gang was threatening Pune’s businessman for an extortion and asked him to pay ₹5 lakh. The businessman told the police that three of the gang members threatened him at his office. However, the businessman went to the police and filed a police complaint, who then handed over the case to Pune Crime Branch.

Pune Crime Branch wrote a letter to Mumbai police about Asha Gawli, summoning her to remain present. Accordingly, Agripada police called Asha Gawli at the police station and issued a notice under CrPc section 411 (a) (1).

Despite the notice, Asha Gawli did not remain present for an inquiry. Meanwhile, she has filed for pre-arrest bail at Khed court and the court accepted her application given her time frame of two-three days after which there are chances that Pune Crime Branch officials might arrest her.
