Currently, the Lok Sabha elections are going on in the country and four phases of elections have been held in the state. So, the fifth phase of elections will be held in the districts of Nashik, Thane and Dhule. Amidst this, the Mumbai Control Room received a call that 350 kg of RDX will arrive in Mumbai from Pakistan. Many sensitive places including Railway Station, Mumbai Airport, Mahalakshmi, will be on target. Therefore, the Railway Police has increased the patrolling team in every railway station.
The six Lok Sabha constituencies in Mumbai including Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi, Palghar, Nashik, Dindori and Dhule will vote on May 20. In this background, the possibility of accidents is predicted. Recently, the control room of Mumbai Police informed the Control Room of Railway Police at Wadi Bunder that Aslam Ali has brought 350 kg of RDX from Karachi, Pakistan to Mumbai and is going to keep it at Mahalakshmi, Airport and other railway stations.
Vigilance instructions have been given in the railway station and vicinity following the threatening phone call. In this regard, the Railway Police have been ordered to increase patrolling in every Railway Police Station with the help of Railway Security Force and increase security.
Coordination has been started by alerting the Secret Service, in constant touch with the Railway Security Force and the local Police. A riot control team, quick response team will be appointed in the railway station. Instructions to increase manpower have been given by senior officials of Railway Police to keep a close watch on unruly passengers in the crowd.
In this background, police security has been increased at CSMT, Byculla, Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Thane, Kalyan on Central Railway and at Churchgate, Mahalakshmi, Mumbai Central, Bandra, Andheri, Santacruz, Borivali on the Western Railway. Frequent inspection visits are being taken to avoid any mishaps or untoward incidents. Also, at the railway station, dog teams are checking the hidden places, garbage bins and passengers' luggage in the railway area.
