As per reports received late at 12:15 AM on Thursday, April 23, 2020, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV, Arnab Goswami and his wife were allegedly attacked by two goons. The incident occurred after Arnab's show on Wednesday, April 22, when he was on his way back after day's work. He and his wife were on their way back home when two men on a motorbike allegedly attacked their car.
Arnab took to Twitter to share this news and said that the two men constantly followed him and drove parallel to his car, and at one instance they parked their bike in front of his car, in order to stop the vehicle, post-which one of them reached the window, pointed out at Arnab and constantly tried to break open the window by banging on it. Further, he also said that they threw some form on liquid over the car and then escaped.
Arnab and his wife escaped the situation, and soon after the two men were caught by Arnab's security team. Upon investigation, the men revealed that they were members of the Youth Congress and were sent by their higher officials to attack Arnab.
Appalled by the incident he called Sonia Gandhi as the 'biggest coward of India' claiming that she had asked her party members to plan the attack on him. He challenged her to face him and answer the questions.
Officers at the NM Joshi Marg Police Station reached the spot and investigated the matter. It is said that they have both the suspects in custody.
