The crime against women is increasing day by day where women are being molested and sexually assaulted in broad daylight and in public places.

Recently, a video went viral where a RPF personnel was seen molesting a woman at Kalyan station. Accused Rajesh Jahangir has been suspended and a departmental inquiry has been ordered against him.

The incident took place on June 18, 2018, around 10:00 pm at Kalyan station when the victim was waiting for a long-distance train on platform number 4/5 along with a child and a woman relative.

Accused Rajesh was sitting next to a woman who was busy chatting with a relative. Under the pretext of sleeping, the accused started inappropriately touching her. Another passenger who was sitting opposite the constable recorded the whole incident and then asked other passengers to beat him. One of them then slapped the constable and the victim's relative also hit him with her sandal.

When the passengers started hurling abuses, accused Jahangir started leaving the spot and he also threatened the passengers asking them to come to the police station.

Meanwhile, GRP police didn't receive any complaint from the victim. However, when the video went viral, RPF acted on it and suspended the accused.

According to sources, Jahangir hails from Rajasthan and joined RPF in 2007. For the past one year, he was posted at Kalyan.
