Nalasopara Explosive Case: Shrikant Pangarkar provided financial assistance to buy arms

Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested Shrikant Pangarkar from Jalna district in connection with the Nalasopara Explosive Case. During the investigation, ATS found out about Pangarkar's involvement in providing financial assistance to buy arms.  

After his arrest, the former Shiv Sena corporator was sent to police custody till August 28. ATS got a lead on Pangarkar while interrogating Sachin Andhure. Earlier in 2012, Pangarkar left Shiv Sena and joined Hindutva outfit.

Shrikant Pangarkar gave financial support to Vaibhav Raut, Sharad Kalaskar and Sudhanwa Gondhalekar to buy weapons which police found at his residence in Nalasopara. Along with a hard disk, pen drive, three mobile phones and other suspicious material including books were seized from their house.

After Raut was arrested, the police initiated arrests all across Maharashtra. The series of arrests exposed Sachin Andhure to be the main shooter in the Narendra Dabholkar murder case.
