On Friday, December 17, Amitabh Gupta, Pune Commissioner of Police stated that the Cyber Crime unit of Pune Police nabbed Tukaram Supe, the commissioner of Maharashtra State Council Of Examination (MSEC) in connection with the alleged malpractices in the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET), reported news agency ANI.
Gupta added that during the investigation, the authorities found some incriminating documents, chats and laptops. This reportedly enabled them to come to the answer that the results of the TET paper held in 2020 were compromised.
The Pune Commissioner of Police added that the evidence was collected and shared with the education department. Later, the then controller of examination Supe as well as one of his accomplices were arrested.
During the raid, the authority seized INR 89 lakh in cash along with other incriminating documents. Later on Monday, December 20, the Cyber Crime unit of Pune Police seized INR 1.59 crores & 44 distinct kinds of jewellery that weighed around 1.5kg from the friends, relatives of Supe, said Gupta.

Additionally, a local court on Friday sent Supe along with the other into police custody. This incident, according to many accounts has raised questions about the conduction of fair examinations in the state.
