The High Court on Friday refused to quash the case filed against actor Sheezan Khan for allegedly inciting small screen actress Tunisha Sharma to commit suicide. A bench of Justice Ajay Gadkari and Justice Sharmila Deshmukh while ruling on Sheezan's plea made it clear that it was being rejected.

Sheezan had approached the High Court seeking quashing of the case filed against him for allegedly inciting Tunisha to commit suicide. Tunisha committed suicide on the sets of 'Ali Baba: Dastan-e-Kabul' at Vasai in Palghar district on December 24, 2022. She was in a relationship with Khan but they broke up. Tunisha's boyfriend and co-star Sheezan was arrested by the Waliv police the next day on the charge of abetting her suicide.

As per a report by Indian Express, Sheezan's advocate Sharad Rai argued in the court that “enter into a relationship and break up are normal facets of life, and if two persons in such a relationship terminate, then the mere fact that the other person commits suicide does not justify the offence registered under IPC section 306 (abetment of suicide) with its consequences of arrest and custody”.
