Famous comedian Kapil Sharma’s on-screen wife Sumona Chakravarty’s father got injured when he was attacked by a rickshaw driver Amit Gupta (25). Her father was admitted to Seven Hills Hospital, Andheri, after suffering a head injury. According to reports in Mumbai Mirror, the driver was arrested on Sumona’s complaint but was later released on a bail of INR 5,000.
Sumona’s father wanted to visit a hospital and was looking out for an auto. Auto driver Gupta stopped on the behest but told her father to give him extra money. This led to an argument between Gupta and her father, after which, he pushed her father and drove off. Injured father was immediately admitted to a hospital where the staff informed Powai police and on the basis of which Gupta was arrested from his house on October 6.
Powai police arrested the driver under section 324, 337 of IPC and section 506 of Motor Vehicle Act. Later, they released him on bail of INR 5,000 according to Anil Pofale, Senior Inspector, Powai Police.
