After wowing audiences with his stellar performances in Uri: The Surgical Strike and web- series like Mirzapur, Actor Akashdeep Arora is back in an all-new avatar in Dice Media’s hit franchise series ‘Firsts’ presented by Cadbury Silk Heart Pop. Firsts Season 5 will see Arora essays the role of a specially-abled college student and co-starring him is Simran Natekar, a young artiste who is best known for her role in shows like Daawat-e-Ishq and Girls Hostel. With every passing season, Dice Media has set the bar high in keeping viewers hooked to its unique stories on school romance, virtual relationship during the lockdown, same-gender relationship, and even arranged marriage. The latest season is India’s first interabled college romance series and spells out a heartwarming tale of acceptance, friendship, love, and beyond.

Season 5 delves into a soft budding love story of two college students whose paths cross for the first time during the admission process in the literary society club. Ayaan, a 2nd-year college student in a wheelchair wants people to know the real him and see past his disability, whereas Avni is a free-willed college fresher who wants to make the most out of her college life. What follows is a soul-stirring tale of their many ‘firsts’ soaked in Ayaan’s innocent unease, and Avni’s cute, patient wait for him to find a comfortable footing in the relationship. No college romance would be complete without a bit of drama which sees Ayaan question his feelings for Avni, wondering if he should take the plunge or not. Every day grows to be a surprise for the two, as they come to terms with their feelings, and learn that the moments spent together are more important than anything else to make beautiful memories.

Over the course of 20 1-minute episodes, this season brings to the limelight the sensitive topic of acceptance of interabled couples finding love despite the challenges they face.

Speaking about his experience playing Ayaan, Akashdeep Arora said, “Playing Ayaan has been an eye-opening experience. I don’t think one can fully understand what goes on in the mind of a specially-abled person, or the challenges they face, unless you put yourselves in their shoes. This season’s storyline is extremely uplifting as both the characters fall in love for each other's true selves which is truly inspiring. I want to thank Dice Media for giving me such a distinct role to essay in one of their hit Franchise shows.”

Simran Natekar, added, “Playing Avni was a very liberating experience for me which I will never forget. Growing into the skin of the character has only made me feel that love sees no boundaries and is truly unconditional. It is amazing to see how the team at Dice Media has conveyed such a simple yet powerful message through these 20 1-minute episodes. I can’t wait for our audiences to see what we have in store for them, and I’m confident that they will love the series, as much as we loved working on it.”
