Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has transformed all 11 of its schools into digital learning hubs. This milestone was celebrated on Teacher's Day as MLA Prashant Thakur officially launched the programme at Loknete D. B. Patil School in Panvel. The initiative was headed by Municipal Commissioner Ganesh Deshmukh. In total, it incurred a cost of INR 2.5 crore.

The main feature of it is digital whiteboards equipped with touch screens and internet connectivity in all 57 classrooms across PMC's schools. These digital boards seamlessly link to laptops, PCs, and cellphones. They provide an interconnected learning experience.

The entire curriculum will be integrated onto the 65-inch digital boards, covering Marathi, Urdu, and Gujarati medium standards from classes 1 to 7. Additionally, a YouTube app has been incorporated into it.

For teachers, these digital boards offer a lot of flexibility. They can select subjects for any class with one touch, and all the topics will come up on the screen as they instruct students. Furthermore, there will also be an option for video conferencing to increase combined learning. Teachers can even share a digital board to teach multiple courses simultaneously.

School buildings have also been renovated with the establishment of libraries and computer cells.
