BMC releases a list of 211 counterfeit schools

Every year, the civic body issues the list for fraud schools. Last year, the municipal corporation had identified 231 schools in comparison to 211 schools this year

Recently, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) released a list of fake schools that have been labeled as counterfeit. Accordingly, they have directed the concerned departments to shut the schools down. On the other hand, they have also appealed to the parents to prevent admission of their children in these schools.

211 schools have been enlisted as fraudulent educational institutions. Every year, the civic body issues the list for fraud schools. Last year, the municipal corporation had identified 231 schools in comparison to 211 schools this year.

This includes Hindi, English, Marathi, and Urdu medium schools. Majority of the schools have been found out in Gowandi. The schools have been formed out of regulation which states that the schools before functioning must seek permission from BMC.

Meanwhile, the students studying in these schools would be transferred to other schools and provided admission there. Alongside, all the schools in the city have been asked by the Education Officer to submit the necessary documents by April to BMC to verify their authenticity.
