The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)  has decided to upgrade civic schools by roping in Cambridge University and British Council who will prepare the syllabus as per their standards by forming a committee. As per the state government’s policy, 100 civic schools will be finalised across the state, of which 26 civic schools will be from Mumbai. 

The state aims to top in the education sector with the help of international level curriculum which will be followed by 26 selected schools in Mumbai.

The education department of the BMC clarified that along with a change in syllabus, translation of the same in Marathi and Urdu, training teachers of selected schools, will be carried out. The civic body’s education department wants students to score 500 marks and to mark their presence on an international level. 

On the basis of evaluation marks, the committee will decide if the school is of international standard or not and the evaluation will be done as per Cambridge University’s rules.
