Students appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) Class X and Class XII board examination have been waiting with bated breath for the authorities to announce the exam dates for 2021. The wait has finally ended today with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announcing the dates for the board.

Today on February 2, 2020 Minister Pokhriyal conducted a live webinar and in the same shared the dates for the board exams for Class 10 and 12. As per the schedule, Class 12 examinations are starting from May 4, 2021 and the first main examination would be for English Elective and English core. The exams for Class 12 will end on June 11, 2020.

Furthermore, on four days the Class 12 exams will be held in two shifts - the first will be from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm, and the second will be from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.

Coming over to Class 10 exams, they will commence from May 4 and end on June 7, 2020. The exams for the students in Class 10 will only be conducted in the afternoon shift of 10.30 to 1.30 pm.

Earlier it was suggested that the result will be declared by the mid-July but now some reports peg that the results for Class 12 will be declared by the first week of August.

The complete date sheet has also been made available on the official site of CBSE on cbse.nic.in.

Minister Pokhriyal further said that the practicals of CBSE Board Examinations 2021 will be held on March 1, 2021. Officials at the CBSE had earlier clarified that the examinations this year will be conducted in written format, and clarifying further, he confirmed that the presence of students at the examination centres will be mandatory.

Earlier this week, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed that if a student fails in any one of the three elective subjects, Science, Mathematics and Social Science, then the failed subject will be replaced by the 'Skill Subject (offered as a 6th additional subject).
