In a development for student politics in Mumbai, the Mumbai University (MU) student polls are all set to be held soon. Accordingly, the University has released the dates for the same.

According to the official notice, the student polls in the university and its affiliated colleges will take place on August 30.

Alongside, the polls of the Student Council of MU will take place on September 24. After the polls are conducted, the result for the same will be declared on August 30 for MU and affiliated colleges whereas the result of the council polls will be declared on September 27.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that the code of conduct will be under implementation during the elections. The code of conduct will be in effect August 20 onwards and will be effective till September 30.

According to the University official, the polls process will begin August 3 onwards. A meeting for which has been called on the same date. The official will also release the provisional voter list on August 20 and the final list for the same will be displayed on August 22.

There has been a formulation of a three-tier system for polls. The tiers will consist of: College Students Council, University Department Students Council, and University Students Council.

Interested candidates can file the nominations by August 23 which will be scrutinised by the officials. Alongside, there will be a draw of the lots on August 19 that will aim at deciding the category of reservation for “Reservation representative”.
