Maharashtra State Common Entrance Examination Cell (CET cell) on Monday, December 21, decided to extend the admission process for B.Ed and M.Ed courses and the date for online registration for the respective admission process for these courses has been extended.

This decision to extend the deadline has brought relief to the students who aim to become teachers and professors in their future.

Candidates seeking admission for the B.Ed course will now be able to apply until Friday, December 25, 2020, and students seeking admission to M.Ed will be able to apply till Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Information regarding the same was provided by the officials from the CET cell.

Further, the coronavirus pandemic has affected several processes in the education sector due to which the schedules and timelines proposed for this year's activities have been hit hard. Authorities from the educational institutions have launched online courses across the state keeping the pandemic in mind.

The state government of Maharashtra, in a recent decision, allowed the classes to resume for Standards 9-12, however, strict guidelines have been issued for the schools. Teachers will have to get tested before attending the schools and parents have been advised not to send students to school if they or any family members develop symptoms.

A few weeks back, State School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad stated that classes for standard 5-8 will also resume soon. Approval from the health department is awaited.
