‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’, this adage fits 41 year old Sharif Khan, who is appearing for his SSC exams that begin today.
The Mulund resident is an autorickshaw driver and is the only bread winner in his family. Yet, he is not giving up on his dream of completing his matriculation exams. He drive the auto rickshaw by day and studies in his spare time. His financial condition did not allow Khan to complete his studies earlier but his daughter Ruksaal, who is also taking her HSC exams this month, encouraged him to take up the challenge.
Sharif Khan started preparing for his SSC exams from the beginning of the year. Whenever he is not driving his auto, he studies in his autorickshaw. Ruksaal also helps him with all his doubts and queries.
Sharif Khan wants to mark his presence in his community and he thinks education is the only way.
