Governor Koshyari inaugurates new law college in Thane District

He laid the foundation stone of the new College Extension building on the occasion and also also felicitated Kapil Patil, Konkan DIG Sanjay Mohite and Thane Collector Rajesh Narvekar.

Maharashtra State Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, on September 18, 2021, inaugurated the new Law College of Vidya Prasarak Mandal at village Kinhavali in Shahapur taluka of Thane district. He also inaugurated the post graduation courses started by the Vidya Prasarak Mandal and laid the foundation stone of the new College Extension building on the occasion. 

Union Minister of State for the Panchayati Raj Kapil Patil, Maharashtra’s Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, Chairman of Vidya Prasarak Mandal and senior journalist Arvind (Aappa) Bhanushali, MLA Daulat Daroda and invitees were present on the occasion.

Koshyari also felicitated Kapil Patil, Konkan DIG Sanjay Mohite and Thane Collector Rajesh Narvekar on the occasion.

A few days back, the Governor of Maharashtra, who is also the Chancellor of the Universities, inaugurated the Sindhudurg Sub Centre of the University of Mumbai via an online event. Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, Member of Parliament Vinayak Raut, MLA Deepak Kesarkar, Vice Chancellor Dr Suhas Pednekar, Pro VC Ravindra Kulkarni, Registrar Baliram Gaikwad were prominent among those present. 

This is the third subcentre of the University, the two others being Thane and Ratnagiri.

Besides this, the seventh Global Literary Festival was also kickstarted via an online event recently where speaking on the occasion, he called for promoting the best of literature in Indian languages through Literary Festivals. The event for the 3-day festival was also attended by several dignitaries which included the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India, High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago, Head of Consular Affairs of Burkina Faso and other countries, Festival President Sandeep Marwah, Chairman MSMECCII Indrajit Ghosh, filmmaker Anil Jain, Charter President Delhi Lions Club Gaurav Guptaa and others.
