As per the ‘QS India University Rankings’, Univesity of Mumbai (MU) has been named as the top state university in the list of traditional universities. Meanwhile, the university has also been ranked as the fourth best traditional university in the country.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) recently released a list of the best educational institutions in the country and accordingly MU was listed 14th as per the rankings. Meanwhile, for the first time ever, IIT-Bombay jumped to the first place and replaced IIT-Bengaluru as the best educational institute in the country.

As per the reports by QS, the varsity has exponentially improved its working since the past five years. Improving its educational standards, the university has also organised several national as well as international educational programs and has started various courses too. Alongside, the university has also enhanced itself in the cultural and sports field resulting in an incredible result in the fields.

In the past five years, the number of admissions in graduation courses have increased by 104 per cent and post-graduation courses by 112 per cent. The number of students seeking distance learning has also increased by 147 per cent. Additionally, in the last five years, the university has won 18 national and international awards for their work.  

This is the result of special efforts made by all the students at Mumbai University who engaged themselves in the process of research and development. Mumbai University will continue to make efforts to improve the ranking in the future. Currently, the University is working on implementation of artificial intelligence, and soon the 'Incubation Center' will also be set up to encourage entreprenuers with the help of the state government,” said Prof. Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Vice Chancellor, Mumbai University
