The examinations conducted for the scholarships every year by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination has not been able to declare the results yet leaving the students in a state of confusion.

It has been more than seven months since the state education department had conducted the scholarship examinations for students of classes 5 and 8. Even though the results of the examinations are usually declared in a couple of months, this year there has been no word on it with regards to when it would be out.

However, as per officials from the education department, the delay is the result of the staff shortage due to the lockdown induced by the coronavirus.

On the other hand, due to the pandemic itself, the State Government of Maharashtra had earlier requested the University Grants Commission to extend the deadline of conducting the final-year examinations by September 30, 2020. The examinations will now to be conducted from next month.

The paper pattern for this year includes MCQ based online examinations and it will be a one-hour long paper of 50 marks. As for the practical exam and viva examinations, it would also be conducted online. This will be either through a phone call or on any of the available digital platforms.
