According to the latest reports, the Maharashtra education department mentioned that schools for grades one to nine and 11 of the state board will operate “full-day” till April 30. This has been done to compensate for the academic loss incurred by the students owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on accounts, the Government Resolution which was issued by IM Kazi, joint secretary, Maharashtra government has asked schools to operate full days on Saturdays. Earlier it was half-days on Saturdays and voluntarily on Sundays.

It has been reported that the GR elucidated how grade 1 to 9 and 11 exams should be held in the third week of April. Apart from this, the results should be declared by May.

In other developments, state school education minister Varsha Gaikwad had remarked that integrated and bilingual textbooks will be introduced for grade one pupils in Marathi medium schools in the coming academic year. Gaikwad remarked that they are working towards curtailing the burden of their books. In light of this, the said decision was taken.
