The Maharashtra State Public Service Commission (MPSC) has announced the revised schedule of three of its examinations.

The State Service Pre-Examination will be conducted on October 11, 2020, Secondary Service Non-Gazetted Group B Joint Pre-Examination on November 22, 2020, and Maharashtra Engineering Service Pre-Examination on November 1, 2020.

The Directorate General of Information and Public Relations took to Twitter to share the revised examination schedule along with the notification.

The three examinations are usually conducted by the commission in the months of April or May. However, these were postponed due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown. Earlier the examination was to take place on September 13, however, the commission once again postponed the tests as the coronavirus infection has not abated. Moreover, the secondary service non-gazetted group had postponed the exam as it was clashing with the NEET examinations.

Meanwhile, after the JEE examinations, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is now gearing up for conducting the NEET examinations which are scheduled to be held on September 13 for which over 15 lakh candidates have registered.

In a bid to maintain social distancing, the NTA has increased the number of centres from 2,546 to 3,843 for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) while the number of candidates per room has been reduced from earlier 24 to 12.
