Due to the municipal council and nagar panchayat elections to be held in the state on December 2, the schedule of the examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) on December 1 and 2 has been changed.
For the elections, examination centers in many institutions in the state will be used for government work. Therefore, it is impossible to conduct the written examination during this period as per the pre-planned schedule. As a result, MSBTE has changed the time of the two-day written examination in the winter examination schedule and has immediately announced the revised schedule on the website.
The battle for local body elections has begun in the state. The government has taken over the buildings and classrooms of various educational institutions in the state for the elections. As a result, the planning of exams is likely to be disrupted.
Considering the elections, it is not possible to conduct the exam on three days - the day before the election, the day of the actual voting, and the day after.
According to the polytechnic schedule, the exams were scheduled for December 1 and 2. However, since the exams could not be conducted due to the elections, MSBTE has decided to postpone the exams. According to the revised schedule announced by MSBTE, the exam scheduled for December 1 will be held on December 4 and the exam scheduled for December 2 will be held on December 5. MSBTE Secretary Umesh Nagdeve has appealed to take note of this change and plan the exam accordingly.
The change will not result in any change in the exam structure or content; only the dates of the written exam have changed. The board has taken this decision to ensure that no student suffers academic losses during the elections. This change in the exams will be implemented across the jurisdiction of all three divisional offices of MSBTE, including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, i.e. across the entire state.
