As per reports, Mumbai University (MU), will be launching the first-ever one-of-a-kind, two Master of Arts, in PR and Communications and Journalism, in online and blended learning format, powered by upGrad.

Moreover, the content of the program can be accessed in English, Hindi and Marathi, which also happens to a fresh addition as MU have not gone digital with a Marathi-language program in the past. In addition, the modules are to include live doubt-solving sessions, discussion forum, career coaching, and a 15-hour per week program structure with live and recorded lectures delivered by the industry leaders and faculty.

The University of Mumbai happens to be one of the oldest premier institutions in India which offer courses in bachelors, masters and doctoral courses, as well as diplomas and certificates in many disciplines like the Arts, Commerce, Science, Medical and Engineering.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy (MSEPP) is to get a centre for research and training in finance as a result of a donation of ₹5 crores. The MSEPP, formerly known as the department of economics is an autonomous body of the University of Mumbai (MU). As per reports, A. S. Dave, an alumnus of the department and former chairperson of the Unit Trust of India has donated ₹5 crores to set up and develop a centre for research and training in finance.

This funding will help the centre to amalgamate with the industry and do research in the financial sector. Moreover, the centre will also offer certificate and diploma courses in the emerging fields of data science, quantitative finance and business analytics.
