On April 27, 2018, Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao appointed Dr Suhas Pednekar as Mumbai University’s new Vice-Chancellor. Mumbai Live got in touch with Dr Pednekar and asked him about his plans for MU.
Mumbai University's newly-elected Vice-Chancellor, Dr Suhas Pednekar said, "Mumbai university should not be limited to examinations and results, but it should be known for innovative activities on the basis of knowledge and research."
I am very happy that I have been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the University. I believe that VC job is not only limited to college and university examinations. Also, it will be the biggest challenge for me to maintain the dignity of the university by clearing out the delayed results mess.
My first aim would be to conduct exams and declare results on time. Also, I will get to learn a lot from the former Vice-chancellor's.

I don’t want to work alone. I will work along with the entire team for which I will develop a system where students can communicate with officials and university will benefit from it.
My aim is to improve Mumbai University's National Ranking as quickly as possible. For this, the university has started several efforts which will help in improving its image.

For the past few months, the Vice-Chancellor's post was vacant. Everyone was looking forward for a new VC to step in. I want all students and teachers to let go of the past and work together to make MU a better place.
