The stigma of failing the board exams is about to end. The state education department to dispense with the word 'failed' from Higher secondary Certificate(HSC) & Secondary school Certificate(SSC) exam marksheets. In the SSC re-exam result announced today. 27.97% students have passed the re-exams. 78,153 students will be promoted.Students will be considered ‘eligible for re-exam’ if they fail in three or more subjects.‘eligible only for skill-development programme’ if they fail re-exams.Vinod Tawde, education minister, said the step initiated will help in removing prejudgement against academically weak students. “The failure tag demoralises them, they lose out on a year and are labelled by the society."said Tawde.
