The non-state boards in Mumbai can administer written and practical board exams for classes X to XII offline between September and November.

On Wednesday, September 22, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) reportedly issued a circular to the non-state boards in Mumbai to conduct exams in an offline mode.

It permits Cambridge, International Baccalaureate (IB), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to conduct exams in their school.

Earlier in February, when Cambridge, IB, and IGCSE board had conducted their board exams offline, no students were tested positive.

This academic year, CBSE and CISCE will be conducting two board exams out of which they can hold the first-semester board exams in school. However, a decision was taken by CISCE that it will administer its first-term MCQs online in November-December. CBSE is yet to decide whether it will hold its first-term exams offline.

BMC's Education Minister, Raju Tadvi, has signed an order that states that there will be no physical lectures for students, including classes 10, 11, and 12. Class XI board exams can take place in person, and CBSE will not conduct boards exams for class XI, as reported by The Times of India.

Addressing the media, Cambridge school heads in Mumbai have said that all COVID-19 guidelines will be followed while conducting exams offline, and students will be called this month for mock tests before their board exams.
