Kurla - Quality education is the right of a child. Education is a source to develop intelligence of children. The basic purpose for admitting the child in a school is to make him a good human being and a precious member of the society. When it comes to specially-abled children, their families need to be advised on their child’s all round development. Taking this into consideration, a special convention of parents of specially-abled children was organised on Tuesday at Swami Vivekanand High School in Nehru Nagar in Kurla East. These parents were guided on their children’s education, career opportunities for them, etc. Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, Wake Up India Foundation and the education department of the BMC had jointly organised this programme to make specially-abled children socially and economically independent. More than 300 parents of such children attended the programme where they were guided by education experts and doctors. Education inspector of N-Ward, Anil Sable, Sulbha Karunanidhi, Chhaya Shah, gynecologist Sasha Kothari, Kanika Kohli, Shankar Raman and other dignitaries on different subjects. Founder of the Wake Up India Foundation, Sonali Kelapure, was also present on this occasion.
