Mumbai - The state education ministry is harnessing mobile phone technology in a novel way to curb the number of students in civic and government run schools dropping out midway. According to a GR just issued, teachers will now have to click a selfie with students every Monday. A group of 10 students must be formed before clicking the selfie. The selfies will be uploaded on the government's Saral system, along with the Aadhar card number and name of the student. This will help the government to maintain the records of students. Once the proposal starts, teachers have to click selfies on consequent Mondays to enable comparative analysis of frequently absent students.
