Mumbai - Now no more burgers, pizzas in college canteens.That's what the University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided. Junk food is very popular among teenagers and youngsters but it has adverse effects on health, claims a UGC report. The UGC has now banned the sale of fast food items in college canteens across the country. It has also advised college authorities to create awareness about the ill effects of junk food on health and general well being.The students should be informed about concepts like body mass index (BMI) and teachers should also be well informed about potential health hazards and their remedies, the UGC has said.
