According to the latest reports, Mumbai University will be conducting the final semester six exams for all the traditional and self-financed undergraduate courses online. These programs reportedly have the highest enrolment in the university. Pupils however will have to undertake their practical exams offline.

On the other hand, exams for all professional courses that include engineering, law, management and BEd will be held offline as mentioned earlier.

Based on accounts, exams are slated to commence from April 19. University director, board of examinations and evaluations, Vinod Patil issued a statement wherein he remarked that many students are enrolled in the traditional programs.

Patil believes that many depend on the final results to attain higher studies and jobs. He added that in order to announce the results on time, considering the vaccination status of pupils, the strike of MSRTC buses and lesser students in hostels, the university has undertaken the decision to conduct the exams online.

He further added that the practical exams of these students will be held offline. The university has released the beginning dates for all exams. However, a comprehensive timetable is awaited.

It has been reported that colleges will have to follow a set schedule and question banks given by the university. Similarly, the winter exams slated to be held in October – November 2022 will be held offline, highlighted the statement.

This has been done to give pupils as well as educational establishments preparation time. The final post-graduate exams for traditional courses will be conducted offline.

This will be done with 50 per cent descriptive and 50 per cent multiple-choice questions. Moreover, exams in the university’s departments will also be conducted offline.

Narratives are also doing the rounds that some autonomous colleges have undertaken the resolution to conduct all examinations offline.
