Amidst the Bombay High Court verdict on the matter of teachers' salary, the Law and Justice Department has taken up the issue to provide teachers with their salaries at the earliest.

Education Minister Vinod Tawde on Monday said that the process to change accounts of the teachers has already started but it will take some time. He further narrated that the “teachers’ salaries will be provided in the next three days.” After that, he apologised to the teachers for not being able to pay their salaries on time and blamed the process for the same. “I apologise for not being able to pay teachers' salary on the occasion of Gudi Padwa,” said Vinod Tawde.

While speaking to the media in the Constituent Assembly, Tawde informed that the process to change bank accounts takes 20-25 days. He said that the Bombay High Court’s verdict narrated to issue the salaries through Union Bank of India and Tawde said that he requested MLC Kapil Patil to hold on Mumbai Bank for the same. However, Patil was firm on getting the salaries for teachers from Union Bank of India despite Tawde’s appeal and this led to the delay.

Maharashtra Rajya Shikshak Parishad’s Mumbai head, Anil Boranare, said that Some credentials have now been completed in the Supreme Court, and in this battle, the salary of Mumbai teachers who have not been neglected for this feat will be credited to their account within 24 hours.”
