In a recently released report, more than 20 officers and employees of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) investigating the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, have tested positive. Keeping this in mind, officials have asked everyone in the team, who have interviewed or met in the past week, to get tested for coronavirus.

The list also includes Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh who were interrogated last week, with regards to the ongoing matter.

The development came after an additional NCB team of officials from Ahmedabad, Indore, Bangalore and Chennai were called to Mumbai on Monday evening, after receiving a report.

Credible sources have said the list of coronavirus positive members also high-ranking officials, many of who have been quarantined in the guest house.

Furthermore, four employees of the NCB office in the exchange building have tested positive for COVID19 and keeping this in mind, the office remained closed for a few days. In the current scenario, two NCB teams are exploring the Bollywood-related drug case in Mumbai.

The drug angle probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput case was underway at the NCB office and the drug angle in Bollywood is being investigated at a guest house near the Gateway of India.

Meanwhile, developments in the case stated that, after thorough questioning, the NCB has not found any links between the drug peddler and actors Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan. All the actresses have denied any information with regards to drug consumption, and further questioning will be held by the officials again if any more evidence is found.

Investigation with the Bollywood actors began during the investigation of the drug matters related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. As per reports, NCB received information regarding a potential drug racket in the film industry. Earlier this month, Sushant's girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and others were taken under judicial custody until October 6. Claims made by Rhea mentioned Sushant as a drug user, and her bail application has been opposed by the NCB, who has stated that she actively involved in the drug syndicate, and has connections with personalities and drug suppliers.
