Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has always had an active social conscience and is currently engaged in the issue of drought hit villages in Maharashtra.

Often described as Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan with his wife Kiran Rao, attended the Marathi television show ‘Chala Hawa yeu Dya’ on his birthday. Khan celebrated his birthday on the sets by cutting a cake and also took the opportunity to speak about the grim issues of water scarcity in the state.

Khan's Paani Foundation is working in many small villages across Maharashtra to improve the water situation in drought hit places. Last year, in villages in three talukas, Khan had organised a 'Water Cup Competition', which received a good response from the local people.
