After Akshay Kumar, 45 crew member of movie Ram Setu test positive for COVID-19

The growing number of cases in Mumbai has become a cause of concern. On Sunday, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar announced that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. He also mentioned that he has isolated himself.

The news was shared by Akshay via his Twitter handle. He tweeted, "I wish to inform everyone that earlier this morning I tested positive for Covid-19. Following all the protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I'm under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care of. Back in action soon".

A day after he tested positive, he has been shifted to a hospital. 

In addition to this, as per reports, 45 junior artists on the sets of  Akshay Kumar's upcoming movie Ram Setu sets have also tested positive for COVID-19. As per the shooting protocol in the state, it is mandatory to conduct tests before the start of the shoot. As Akshay had tested positive, the shoot of Ram Setu started at a new location in Mumbai on Monday.

As a part of this protocol, more than 100 people were tested. The results showed that out of these, 45 people had tested positive for coronavirus. Following this development, the shoot of the movie Ram Setu has been halted.

The growing number of cases has been impacting the shooting schedules of many movies. Ram Setu is the latest one to get impacted. 

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha.
