The last rites of actor Sushant Singh Rajput were held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. The funeral was attended by the father KK Singh, elder sister and cousin MLA Neeraj Kumar.

There was an enormous presence of several artists who attended the funeral to offer their condolences. Sushant Singh Rajput had several close friends in the TV industry who came to pay their respects. Multiple actors like Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Bijlani, Randeep Hooda, Vivek Oberai was spotted arriving at the crematorium. Shraddha Kapoor had earlier worked with Sushant in the film 'Chhichore' which happened to be his last release. Apart from this, actor Varun Sharma who had been his co-actor also reached out to say goodbye to his friend. Director Abhishek Kapoor also paid his respects while visiting the cemetery with his wife Pragya. Actors like Kriti Sanon, Ranveer Shorey, Udit Narayan, Rajkumar Rao, Randeep Hooda also reached Pawan Hans in order to offer their condolences. Rhea Chakraborty, a close friend of the actor, was also present at the crematorium. She was also spotted at the Cooper Hospital on Monday morning where the deceased had been kept. Rhea was also taken by the police for questioning.

The city of Mumbai has been witnessing incessant rain on Monday. However, in spite of the rain, fans had gathered on both sides of the road outside the cemetery in order to bid farewell to their beloved actor

On June 14, Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence. His body was autopsied on the morning of June 15. According to a preliminary report, Rajput died of suffocation after being trapped by the rope. A team of three doctors performed an autopsy on the actor’s body. A preliminary report has been lodged at Bandra police station. Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Pranay Ashok had earlier stated that no note has been found yet.
