The trailer of the much spoken about Bollywood film, Raabta, which raised questions on Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon's relationship, was recently launched. The film focuses so much on the leads and story that no one seems to have caught at the end of the trailer featuring a mysterious looking character.
Watch the trailer again and you will see Bollywood's acclaimed actor, Rajkumar Rao, who was last seen in Trapped. Rao essays the role of a 324 year old man and looks absolutely unrecognizable. The movie features a brief role by Rao, but it is certainly a crucial one.
"I did this friendly appearance for Dinoo and Homi. It was so much fun as an actor. Dinoo has a very clear vision as a director and he gave me lot of freedom as an actor to explore. The prosthetics used to take almost 5-6 hours everyday and then I would start sweating inside all that make up. It needed quite a bit of patience,” said Rao, when questioned about the look and character.
There is immense detailing for the look as the look seems to lend a strong part in the narrative. It is said that the team selected this one after 16 look tests. Dinesh and Rao sat along with the team over couple of days to get the final look in place.
The look has been given by a team of professional artists from LA who have worked along with Zuby Johal, and in addition to the role, Rao also had to change the body posture and undergo voice modulation for the role.
It is said that Rao underwent 5 - 6 hours of prosthetics everyday to get into his character. In addition to that his styling was important. He will be seen wearing accessories and also has tattoos.
Talking about the same, Director of Raabta, Dinesh Vijan shared "Rajkumar was kind enough to do me a favour. It was tedious but, he patiently sat through it everyday. I think, the idea of the prosthetics making him completely unrecognisable excited him as an actor."
Raabta stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh. The films marks Dinesh Vijan's debut as a director.
