Cinema magic unfolds at Kala Ghoda Festival

Kala Ghoda- The Kala Ghoda festival is just round the corner and like every year, it will be a cultural extravaganza with events from arts, music, theatre and films taking centre stage.
This year Cinema @ Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2017 celebrates the Hero’s Journey. The carefully curated selection of films largely mirrors this theme – of the unsung or unexpected hero, that character who battled all odds to rise up triumphant. But it’s not just about the characters. Kala Ghoda 2017 also acknowledges the independent spirit of filmmaking and is ready to delight audiences with a programme that features some of India’s best works that were feted around the world – movies like Aligarh, Waiting, Parched, Nil Battey Sannata, Kaaka Muttai and Visaranrai, among others. You will also find a rich programme of documentaries, short films, Hollywood films, a wonderful retrospective of Ramesh Sippy’s films and enriching conversations and discussions on all things cinema.
Kala Ghoda 2017 is gung ho about a short film contest titled ‘Dark Horse’ as well, which has reportedly received an overwhelming response. Plus it has an unmissable package of Marathi films and even films never seen before in Mumbai.
Cinema venues this year are the Coomaraswamy Hall and Visitor’s Centre Auditorium at The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vaastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS).
One weekend (February 4-5) at the BNHS Audi will feature Children’s programming.
