Meet the Sridevi fan who has created a book detailing 50 years of her life

Fans from across India attended the recently held event exclusively for Sridevi fans (screening of her recent film Mom), but we are told that there was one special fan who has been following her ever since his childhood. On this occasion, K S Murthy, a diehard Sridevi fan, presented a special book made for the legend, celebrating her 50 years in the film Industry.

The book titled ‘Sridevi - the legend of Indian Cinema’ is full of pictures, from her childhood till her last release. The book has posters and images about her first film, holidays, red carpet outfits, films from several languages and much more, truly a celebration for her 50 years in the Indian film industry.
Mumbai Live exclusively got in touch with the author, K S Murthy, to know what makes him one of the biggest Sridevi fans.

About his craze for the legend
Since my childhood I have seen Sridevi in Telugu films. I remember my mom showing me her songs when they were played on TV, showing her pictures in magazines and even before I knew my name I was very fond of her (laughs).

Inspiration or idea for this wonderful memoir

Various thoughts inspired me, but one thing which I was always doing since my childhood is to collect her pictures from news papers especially posters, magazines, interviews. Since it’s her 50th year in Indian cinema, as a fan I really want to give her a gift which can make her recollect her films since her childhood. The only thing which I did since my childhood is now compiled to a book. I am very happy to gift her. Thanks to my friends, my fellow Sridevi fans and organizers Deepa Bhatia and Rajan Naidu for making this event possible.
Sridevi’s reaction on receiving the book

On receiving the book, Sridevi was surprised to see his work.
“Omg! how did u get all these information. Very impressive,” said the actress to Murthy.

Truly, there are seldom fans who dedicate their entire life and likes to one actress, hoping for a moment to spend with them. Sridevi made this happen for Murthy.
