On Friday, Netflix India announced the season 2 of its much-admired original web series — Sacred Games. A teaser was posted on their official Twitter account which remarked Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s memorable Ganesh Gaitonde’s return! And it was chilling!
The 45-second teaser begins with a mandala spinning around and the characters from the show giving a voiceover. “Bhagwan ko maante ho?” asks Gaitonde, and narrates the gist of the season 1. Along with Nawazuddin Gaitonde’s voiceover, we also hear Saif Ali Khan's Sartaj Singh, Neeraj Kabi Parulkar, and Radhika Apte’s RAW agent Anjali Mathur.
At the end of the teaser, the mandala stops spinning to reveal the design of season 2 along with Gaitonde's dailogue, " Iss baar toh bhagwaan khudko bhi nahi bacha sakta".
Co-directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, Sacred Games Season 1 saw Ganesh Gaitonde’s death and his death became the mission of Inspector Sartaj Singh. Sacred Games, a race-against-time story to uncover a potential terror attack on Mumbai. Sartaj had been given only 25 days to solve the mystery. Out of 25 days, 14 days of Vikram Chandra’s novel are still to be explored.
