Gayatri Cine Productions alleged Anushka Sharma starrer Phillauri makers of copying the script of their movie Mangal Phera. Film Mangal Phera was in Gujarati. Producers of Mangal Phera filed the petition in Bombay High Court against makers of Phillauri.
The film Mangal Phera is made in three languages including Bhojpuri and Bengali apart from Gujarati. The movie was directed in the year 2013.
Bombay High Court has quashed the charges of plagiarism against Phillauri. Phillauri is an upcoming film directed by Anshai Lal and produced by Fox Star Studios, Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma’s production house Clean Slate Films. The film is scheduled to release on 24 March.
The film stars Anushka Sharma and singer turned actor Diljit Dosanjh. Diljit Dosanjh garnered positive reviews for his debut performance in Udta Punjab. The film features Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Peerzada in the pivotal roles. Anushka Sharma plays friendly spirit in the film.
