On 29 April 2017 in Kolkata, popular model Sonika Chauhan died while her beau Vikram Chatterjee was injured when their car met with an accident. Tollywood actor Vikram Chatterjee lost his control over the car and it first crashed into the divider on the road and then smashed towards the adjacent shops; turning upside down, the mishap took place at Rashbehari crossing in South Kolkata around 4:30 am in the morning.
The actor was booked for reckless driving and later was released on bail. In a press meet, Vikram had then said that “I was not speeding, not intoxicated; It was a mere accident”.
But according to the reports in media Sonika’s death is more than a mere accident. When the Kolkata police got in touch with one of the eye-witnesses who was present at the site said that the actor cannot deny that he wasn’t drunk.
"He (Vikram) cannot deny that he wasn't drunk. He was drinking. I am the proof. He was also mixing his drinks that night," said the eyewitness to a renowned news channel.
Sonika was a well known in Kolkata as well as in Mumbai, she was a participant of Bigg Boss Bangla and was also the host of the Pro Kabaddi League.
