Ever since pop superstar, Rihanna and climate activist Greta Thunberg shared their views on the ongoing farmers’ protest in India, several film personalities, as well as sportsperson, took to social media to share their views.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her controversial statements, took to Twitter to post a derogatory tweet where she referred to several Indian cricketers as “Dhobi ka Kutta.”

Rohit Sharma was among the many cricketers who tweeted over the farmers' protest. He wrote, "India has always been stronger when we all stand together and finding a solution is the need of the hour. Our farmers play an important role in our nation’s well being and I am sure everyone will play their roles to find a solution TOGETHER. #IndiaTogether"

Kangana quickly took notice of Rohit's tweet and replied in a rather derogatory manner. She referred to the cricketers as "Dhobi ka kutta" as she wrote, "Why all these cricketers sounding like dhobi ka kutta na ghar ka na ghat ka? Why would farmers be against laws which are revolutionary for their well-being. These are terrorists who are causing ruckus. Say that na...itna daarr lagta hai? (Say that why are you so afraid)"

The controversial tweet has since been taken down by Twitter. The microblogging site has also deleted one of Kangana's reply to the tweet to Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu.

Twitter has also put out a statement which reads, “We have taken action on Tweets that were in violation of the Twitter rules in line with our range of enforcement options”.
