In February 2020, the Forum of Environmental Journalists in India (FEJI) which is a countrywide network of journalists, recently held a seminar in collaboration with the Mumbai Press Club wherein they presented a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to Aaditya Thackeray. The seminar was held on the topic of environmental and climate change issues in Mumbai.

The activists have further pointed out that the land in question is not a no-development zone but a green zone. The work cannot start until the Ministry of Environment gives its clearance. Notably, at a recent Climate Crisis Conference that was held by public-private enterprise Mumbai First, Municipal Commissioner stated that 'due to private activism, public wealth has been actively constrained and literally destroyed.'
