The Mumbai is known to have a constant temperature most of the time. However, 2020 has started on a see-saw note. The temperature has been constantly fluctuating right from the start of the year and we can see the effect even in this month. As per the weather forecast, the temperature in the city is expected to go down starting tomorrow.

What’s more, the temperature is expected to remain in the lower range from February 6 to 8, 2020. Talking about the same, K S Hosalikar, deputy director-general (western region), India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, "A small nip in temperatures is expected from February 6-8 in the state and Mumbai due to the northerly winds and their effect on wind direction. After that temperatures will begin to rise".

The week started on a warm note for Mumbai as on Monday night the temperature recorded was 18.8 degrees Celsius, which is reportedly 1.2 degrees over the normal temperature. On the other hand, the Colaba observatory witnessed a night temperature of 20 degrees, which is reportedly 0.4 degrees above normal. There was a prediction that temperatures may touch the mark of 30 degrees Celsius while night temperatures could also climb up to 20 degrees Celsius.

However, on Tuesday, the minimum temperatures in the city remained near normal at 20.2 degree Celsius in Colaba and 18.5 degrees Celsius Santacruz. The prediction is that on Wednesday the maximum temperature that will be recorded will be 31 Celsius while the minimum temperature could be around 20 Celsius.

So as a citizen it is good to see the cool breeze making a comeback and making the weather pleasant again. However, the sudden spikes and lowering of the city’s temperature may not be a good sign. As a matter of fact, it can increase the chances of a person catching a flu, cold or other related ailments. So it is advised to follow precautions as advised by doctors.
