IMD Issues Yellow Weather Warning In Certain Parts Of Maharashtra

IMD issued a yellow weather alert predicting thunderstorms along with lightning as well as light to moderate rainfall in certain parts of the Vidharbha region in Maharashtra for the coming two days.

On Tuesday, January 11, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow weather alert predicting thunderstorms along with lightning as well as light to moderate rainfall in certain parts of the Vidharbha region in Maharashtra for the coming two days, reports stated. 

According to reports, many districts in east Vidharbha that include Nagpur saw rainfall as well as hail during the day. Thus, the regional meteorological centre of the IMD Nagpur gave a yellow warning. It did so for regions that include Nagpur, Wardha, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Gondia, Bhandara and Vidharbha's Gadchiroli districts till Thursday, an official mentioned.

On the other hand, the IMD has warned towards a very likely continual of thunderstorm along with lightning and light to moderate rainfall at a few places over Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara and Gondia. Thunderstorm and hail warning has been given in a few places in Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Yavatmal districts, remarked on official, based on accounts. 

Based on accounts, 0.55 mm rainfall in isolated places of Nagpur was reported till 8.30 am on Tuesday. Moreover, many parts of Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Wardha attained over 1 cm rainfall till 12 pm, said the official.
