The India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said that light to moderate rains are likely to be witnessed over parts of Maharashtra, including coastal Konkan region and Goa, between November 23 and November 27.

In its five-day forecast, the regional meteorological department (RMC), Mumbai, officials stated that several parts of the city and suburbs will experience light showers. Mumbai, Thane and Palghar is very likely to see thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40kmph) on the weekend, November 25-26.

The easterly winds have created rain conditions. Mumbai and its adjoining districts are part of Konkan administrative division.

"Due to easterly winds, there is a high chance of rain over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. These areas may receive light to moderate rains from November 23 to 27," said Anupam Kashyapi, head of IMD's weather forecasting department.

During November 24-27, light to moderate rains with thundershowers are likely in Pune, he added.

On Tuesday, November 21, IMD witnessed maximum and minimum temperatures of 35 degrees Celcius and 22.8 degrees Celcius respectively.
