Maharashtra is experiencing a spell of erratic weather, with unseasonal rain in some regions and intense heatwave conditions in others. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for parts of the state, including Konkan, Marathwada, and Vidarbha.

Weather officials said pre-monsoon activity has led to thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and occasional hailstorms in several districts. In Mumbai and across the Konkan region, residents are likely to face hot, humid weather along with intermittent rainfall over the next few days.

In Marathwada, temperatures remain high between 38°C and 42°C while chances of rain and thunderstorms continue, raising concerns about potential crop damage.

Meanwhile, Vidarbha is witnessing severe heatwave conditions, with temperatures climbing up to 44–45°C in some areas. Any rainfall in the region is expected to provide only temporary relief from the heat.

The IMD has cautioned that these fluctuating weather patterns are likely to persist in the short term.
