In unprecedented developments, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray notified that he has invited Elon Musk's Tesla, the US electric-car maker, to the state of Maharashtra.

The Shiv Sena leader further took to Twitter to state that he and industries minister Subhash Desai held a video call with Tesla executives to invite them to the state. Furthermore, Thackeray spoke about policy building and changes for sustainable development that the Maharashtra government is committed to.

This comes after Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, hinted at making a foray into the country in 2021. Tesla happens to be an American electric vehicle and clean energy company whose current products include electric cars, battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar products and services.

Moreover, these developments could prove to be exciting as they come at a time when the Prime Minister has been promoting the use of electric vehicles for a safer environment. These electric vehicles can offer value over the long term and are usually cheaper to maintain. Moreover, fewer emissions mean reduced greenhouse gases which could push the country towards a sustainable environment for the future generations. In addition, electric cars happen to be quieter which creates a more relaxing experience for the commuters.
