Mumbaikars this morning, May 2, woke up to partly cloudy skies whereas parts of the city witnessing moderate rainfall.

In a shocking incident, the unseasonal rains have been witnessed today, May 2, across Maharashtra.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rains with thunderstorm and lightning for Vidarbha, Marathawada and central Maharashtra till May 5. Meanwhile, there is no rain expected in Mumbai, partly cloudy skies could prevail till May 5.

Owing to this, the maximum temperature continued to decrease in Maharashtra including Vidarbha and Marathwada.

As per IMD’s regional meteorological centre (RMC), Mumbai, on Monday, May 1, the minimum and maximum temperature were observed at 25.3 and 32. 4 degrees Celsius respectively at Santacruz laboratory. Meanwhile, the Colaba observatory recorded minimum and maximum temperature at 23 and 33.2 degrees Celsius.

Mumbai saw ‘satisfactory’ air for two consecutive days on Sunday and Monday, with AQI values of 81 and 74, respectively. Experts attributed the improvement, from a ‘moderate’ AQI of 64 a day prior, to warm conditions and a western disturbance that is currently passing over parts of North India, in turn bringing swifter winds to the north Konkan coast as well.
