The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of rain in several parts of Maharashtra over the coming days, with isolated heavy showers likely in some areas.
According to the latest forecast, North Konkan is expected to receive widespread rain, while South Konkan and Goa may also witness fairly widespread showers. Other parts of Maharashtra are likely to experience isolated rainfall.
The IMD forecast indicates that rainfall activity could increase in parts of the state in the coming days. Residents in areas under weather alerts have been advised to remain cautious, particularly during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
The weather department has also warned of possible waterlogging in low-lying areas, disruption to road and rail transport, falling trees and other localised impacts in areas that receive heavy rainfall.
The forecast comes as Maharashtra enters the Ganesh festival period, with weather experts expecting light to moderate showers across parts of the state between September 12 and 15. Rainfall could be comparatively heavier in Konkan and Vidarbha between September 13 and 16.
